The crouching-tiger island,
where the flowers of the sea bloom

Beomseom is an uninhabited island off Beophwan, Seogwipo. From afar it resembles a crouching tiger — hence its name (虎島, Tiger Island). Designated part of the Munseom·Beomseom Nature Reserve (Natural Monument No. 421) in 2000, these waters host an internationally rare soft-coral community where most of Korea's coral species gather.

Soft Coral Gardens

Soft corals — called 'flowers of the sea' for their resemblance to garden cockscombs — paint the vertical walls in pink, orange, and yellow.

Beomseom Dive Points

Rocks eroded into 'nostril' shapes, sheer drop-off walls, and the coral-rich Flower Garden — Beomseom's own dive points where schools of silver damselfish swirl around you.

I can't swim at all, but the instructor stayed with me one-on-one the whole time. I was scared of the water, but they calmly guided me — and I did it!

김** · Couple trip

Heading out to Beomseom on their own boat made it truly special. There were so many fish that a school of damselfish surrounded me, and the 'Nostril' point at Beomseom was magical.

이** · Trip with friends

The owner is cheerful but serious about safety. Welcome coffee, photos and videos included, and even restaurant recommendations afterward. The best memory of our family trip.

황** · Family trip

Everything's provided — gear and shower facilities — so you can just show up. I was nervous as a first-timer but had so much fun I want to come back for certification. A must whenever I'm in Jeju!

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we hear most often — drawn from 157 real reviews.

Can I scuba dive if I can't swim?

Yes — you can try scuba diving even if you can't swim. An instructor stays with you one-on-one from entry to ascent, and your buoyancy vest and gear keep you supported, so you don't need to know how to float. Many of our guests arrive as non-swimmers and safely enjoy the waters of Beomseom.

What should I bring or prepare for diving?

Just bring yourself. All equipment — wetsuit, mask, fins, regulator — is provided, and shower facilities with toiletries are available. A swimsuit and a change of clothes are all you need.

When is the best season to dive at Beomseom?

Diving runs year-round, but visibility is at its best from September to November. In summer the water warms to 24–27°C, making for comfortable dives. Winter diving is also possible with the right wetsuit.

Can I still dive if it rains?

Yes — diving usually goes ahead as planned even in the rain, because rain has almost no effect underwater. Only weather that affects safety, such as strong winds or high waves, may lead to schedule changes — and we'll let you know in advance if so.

What is the minimum age for a discover dive?

Discover diving is open to ages 10 and up. Minors need a guardian's consent. For exact age and health requirements, please ask when booking.

Can I get photos or videos of my dive?

Yes — your instructor takes photos and videos during the dive free of charge. You'll receive the files at no extra cost, so the memories are yours to keep.

How do I book? Is same-day booking possible?

You can book through the booking form on this site, by phone (+82-10-8756-7856), or on MyRealTrip. Same-day booking may be possible depending on tides and availability — please call to check.

Do you offer sessions in English or Chinese?

Yes — briefings and courses are available in both English and Chinese. Just choose your preferred language when booking and we'll be ready.

How do I get there, and is parking available?

We're at 693-7 Ieodo-ro, Seogwipo, Jeju, with private parking on site. By public transport, take Airport Limousine Bus 600 from Jeju Airport, get off at 'Kensington Resort Akgeuncheon', and walk from there.

What's the difference between a discover dive, fun diving, and snorkeling?

A discover dive lets you experience the underwater world with an instructor and no license; fun diving is for certified divers; snorkeling (skin diving) means viewing the sea from the surface with a mask and snorkel — the lightest way to enjoy it.
